This is PrepperMill. It’s a place where preppers are made. Why? If you are prepared, you have nothing to worry about.

I started this blog because I think I have something to say about prepping. I think about prepping differently than many people, and I think my way is more accessible, more actionable, and more fulfilling than what I’ve seen on other sites.
The PrepperMill Way:
- Prepping isn’t weird. At least, not the way we do it. I don’t worry about what other people think, and I talk about prepping pretty casually to my friends, coworkers, and family. This is because prepping SHOULD be the norm, not a scary / fringe activity. Prepping is about being Prepared so you never have to be Worried.
- Evaluate risks. We think about what is likely to happen, and how bad it will be if it DOES happen. Then we decide what, if anything, we need to do about those risks. For example, it is possible (but unlikely) that an asteroid will destroy human civilization during my lifetime. The impact of such an event is obviously HUGE. But how much time do I spend planning and preparing for it? Not much.
- Think long-term. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither are preppers. We all have limited time and limited money, so we should prepare for things in priority order based on the limitations we have.
- Build habits and tempo. We do things every quarter, every month, every week, and sometimes every day. This is how change happens.
- Prepping is more about skills, knowledge, and attitude than it is about stuff. Sure, you need some food, some materials, and other stuff. But all the stuff in the world won’t be enough to overcome a lack of knowledge.
As we apply these principles together, you will be able to improve your preparedness, self-sufficiency, and resilience. You’ll be prepared for whatever life throws your way.
Prepping as a Roadmap for Life
I hope you’ll find that the PrepperMill way is actually a recipe for success in all aspects of your life. If your Mom and Dad didn’t give you the following advice growing up, then it’s about time you heard it from me:
- Be Confident (Prepping isn’t Weird).
- Manage Risk.
- Think Long-Term.
- Build Successful Habits.
- Knowledge and Skills Trump Stuff.
Just like with your muscles, these life skills get stronger when you use them. As you apply these skills and thought processes to getting prepared, you’ll also develop those muscles for other parts of your life.
Never be Worried
When people hear that I’m a prepper, they sometimes ask me: “What are you worried about?”
My answer: “I’m prepared for anything, so I don’t really worry about anything.”
That’s the way I feel about pretty much all parts of my life now. There is no point in living your life as a worrier. Everything is just a problem that needs a solution or a risk that needs to be mitigated.
I’m confident today that no matter what happens, my family’s health, safety, and wellbeing are taken care of. What is more important than that?
