We recently posted about keeping some cash on-hand for emergencies as part of our Getting Started as a Prepper series.

The news also had quite a bit of coverage of Hurricane Ian survivors struggling to get supplies after the storm had passed. In some cases, the stores were just empty. In other cases, the store had supplies, but no electricity or network service to process credit card payments.

This is why cash is king in emergencies.
